Born and raised in London, Laura grew up with a keen interest in interiors and the art of great lighting, inspired by the bright colours and bold patterns of the homes she knew as a child.

Passionate about building homes, and more importantly lighting them, she's a firm believer that a room is only complete when it's full of wall lights and lamps adorned in eclectic shades. After moving to Cape Town in 2021 and realising there was a gap in the market for delightfully decorative lampshade designs, she launched The Little Haus – the first company of its kind in South Africa.

What began with gathered lampshades has grown into so much more. Today the collection spans rechargeable premium lamp bases, hardwired lamps and luxury hardware – each piece chosen or crafted to bring warmth, character and a little joy to a space. At the heart of it all is our studio in Cape Town, where a growing team of eight artisans handmake every shade by hand.

Our style is timeless yet colourful British elegance: classic in its foundations, playful in its patterns, and always designed to be lived with and loved.
